This is the way I intend to administer the Lunchtime Leagues. If there's anything here you don't think much of, it's a good start to tell me about it, although I don't guarantee to agree with you.

• Leagues approximately calendar monthly, except perhaps during holiday periods.
• After a longer-than-a-month league, leagues will be four weeks ending on a Friday, until it sorts itself out as calendar monthly again. (New Jan 2002)
• Leagues finish at 14:00 on the final day. Results later than this will be accepted unless the new leagues have already been created. Results by email are acceptable.
• If both players try but fail to arrange a match in ample time, the match may be scored as 3-3. If one player tries to arrange a match but fails to make contact, or provides sufficient dates none of which is acceptable, that player may score the match as 3-0. If a match is arranged but one player fails to turn up, the match may be scored 5-0 (New Feb 2018). Otherwise, the match will be scored as 0-0, as will it in the event of a dispute (New Aug 2004).
• Promotion is one up, one down, mostly. Organiser's discretion if few matches have been played. Organiser's discretion anyway.
• Extra promotions or demotions if the size of the leagues change.
• Automatic demotion for anyone who plays no matches for two months.
• In the event of a draw, the following criteria will be applied, in order:
  1. Better score in match (or matches) between the players
  2. Better average score per game
  3. Binary choice assistance device
• New players join the leagues one below where they probably think they deserve to.

I haven't put full phone numbers on the list, because of the possibility of malicious automated trawling. If you think I'm being overly paranoid, I'll change it. For the same reason, I'm only putting Mobile numbers up on request.
